Your surgeon

One surgeon, named before you ask

Most medical travel sites will not tell you who operates until you have paid a deposit. This is the surgeon.

Dr. Sara Arjang

ENT and head and neck surgeon, facial plastic surgery. Operates at Nikan Hospital, Tehran.

  • Dr. Sara Arjang is an ear, nose and throat surgeon who completed her specialty in head and neck surgery at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and now works mainly on the nose.
  • She is a co-author of a paper on severe deviated nose treatment in the European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology.
  • She operates at Nikan Hospital in Tehran, which is the one hospital Aysara works with.

Dr. Arjang operates at Nikan. She is not an Aysara employee, and Aysara gives no medical advice.

The instrument

Piezo ultrasonic, in plain language

A piezo instrument uses ultrasonic vibration to shape the bone of the nose. It cuts bone but leaves the soft tissue around it alone, so the surgeon works in smaller, more controlled steps than with a chisel.

  • It shapes bone rather than fracturing it in one movement.
  • It is one instrument in a longer operation, not a different operation.
  • In the published literature it is associated with less bruising and swelling in the early period. Associated with, not guaranteed.

Where cases differ

Not every nose is the same problem

Surgeons plan around what is actually in front of them: skin, bone, cartilage, and what has been done before. These are the distinctions that change a plan most.

  • 01

    Thick skin or fleshy nose

Thicker skin holds swelling longer and shows less of the underlying shape, so definition arrives slowly and the plan is different from the start.

  • 02

    Bony nose or dorsal hump

Work on the bridge is bone work. It is where instrument choice and the surgeon's approach matter most.

  • 03

    Crooked or deviated nose

A nose that leans is a structural problem, and straightening it is not the same operation as reducing one.

  • 04

    Revision after previous surgery

A second operation works through scar tissue and altered anatomy. It is harder, takes longer to settle, and needs the first surgery's records.

  • 05

    Male rhinoplasty

Different proportions and usually a different goal. Thicker skin and a stronger bridge are common, and over-reduction reads badly on a male face.

Which of these describes you is decided at examination, not from a photograph you send on WhatsApp.

What Aysara does

One team for everything that is not surgery

Aysara is not a directory and not a broker with a list of hospitals. One hospital, one surgeon, one contact in Oman.

  • First contact and case review

We open your case with the hospital and arrange a secure channel when photos are needed.

  • Surgeon and hospital booking

Dates, admission, and the surgical booking at Nikan, confirmed in writing before you travel.

  • One written package

What is included and what is not, in one document you read before paying anything.

  • Travel, pickup, and where you stay

Flights planned around the surgical date, someone meeting you in Tehran, and a place to stay for the whole recovery period, with room for a companion.

  • Arabic and English throughout

Nikan supplies Arabic and English translators. You are never left to manage a clinical conversation in Farsi.

  • Follow-up after you fly home

We keep the line to the surgeon and the hospital open once you are back in Oman.

What Aysara does not do

  • We do not assess you, diagnose you, or recommend surgery.
  • We do not decide your technique, your stay, or when you can fly.
  • We do not send your medical documents or clinical photos to anyone outside your care.

How it works

From first message to flying home

Five steps. You can stop at any of them, and nothing is charged until the package is agreed.

  1. 01

    Message us

Your name, your number, and the language you want to be answered in. Nothing medical, and nothing to pay.

  2. 02

    Photos and history

When the hospital is ready to review your case, we open a secure channel for photographs and your medical history. Never the contact form.

  3. 03

    The surgeon reviews and quotes

Dr. Arjang reviews your case and says whether surgery suits you. You get one written package with the price and what it covers.

  4. 04

    Travel and surgery

Flights, pickup, accommodation, and admission at Nikan, all arranged around the surgical date.

  5. 05

    Recovery and follow-up

Your recovery in Tehran, then follow-up with the surgeon and the hospital after you are back in Oman.

Honestly

What recovery actually feels like

This section is deliberately not cheerful. People who know what is coming cope with it better, and every one of these points is general information rather than your surgeon's instruction.

  1. 01

    The first week

A splint or tape on the nose, blocked breathing through the nose, swelling around the eyes, and bruising that can be noticeable. Most people describe pressure and congestion rather than sharp pain.

  2. 02

    Weeks two to four

The splint comes off, the obvious bruising fades, and most people are back to ordinary work and social life. The nose still looks swollen to you even when others stop noticing.

  3. 03

    Months two to six

Swelling drops steadily, and the tip is the slowest part. This is the stage where people worry most, because change becomes hard to see day to day.

  4. 04

    The first year and beyond

The shape keeps settling for a long time, and thicker skin takes longer. A final result is a year or more away, not a month.

Sleeping position, glasses, exercise, sun, blowing your nose, and washing all have rules after this surgery, and they come from your surgeon, not from a website. Ask before you assume.

Money

What it costs, and why we will not give you one number

Planning range at Nikan

USD 1,700 to 5,000

That is the hospital's own indicative range for rhinoplasty, and it is what we plan against. Anybody who quotes you a single exact figure before an examination is guessing.

How the final price is set

Your price is confirmed after the surgeon examines you and reviews a CT scan. Until then it is a planning range. You get the final figure and the full list of inclusions and exclusions in writing, and you decide after that, not before.

What moves a case inside the range

  • How complex the surgery is, and how much structural work the nose needs
  • Primary surgery or a revision after previous surgery
  • Technique and instruments used
  • Length of hospital stay
  • Anything performed at the same time as the rhinoplasty

Two goals

Looks and breathing are different goals

Some people want to change how the nose looks. Others want to breathe more easily. These are not the same goal, and one surgery does not always do both. The surgeon examines your nose and tells you what is realistic for you.

  • A cosmetic change and a breathing problem are assessed separately.
  • Only the surgeon can say what your nose needs.
  • We never promise a look or a result.

Case review

What the surgeon reviews

Before anything is agreed, the hospital needs enough to understand your case.

  • Your goals, in your own words
  • Your general health and any past surgery
  • Photos, shared through a secure channel

Before you decide

Take your time to decide

Rhinoplasty is surgery. It has real risks and a recovery period, and the shape keeps settling for a long time afterward. There is no rush. Ask the surgeon your questions, and decide only when you feel ready.

For general medical facts about the surgery, these independent health sources are a good place to start. They are not connected to Aysara.

Independent information

Further reading

Read the detail first

These are the longer explanations behind this page. None of them sells you anything, and reading them before you make contact is the right order.

Questions

The things people actually ask first

Short answers. The longer ones belong to the surgeon, and none of this replaces an examination.

Is it painful?
Rhinoplasty is done under anaesthesia, so you feel nothing during it. Afterwards most people describe blockage and pressure rather than sharp pain, and pain relief is part of the hospital's plan. What you will feel is a question for your surgeon and the anaesthetist, because it depends on the surgery you actually have.
How long do I have to stay in Iran?
Plan for one week to one month. Most people are cleared to fly home after about a week. Your surgeon sets the date at examination and can change it while you recover, so keep your return flight flexible.
Will it look natural?
Dr. Arjang describes her approach as correcting the nose in proportion to the rest of your face rather than toward one fixed shape. What is achievable for you depends on your skin, bone, and cartilage, and it is decided at examination. Nobody can promise you a look.
What happens if I need a revision?
Revision surgery is a real possibility after any rhinoplasty, including a good one. Ask the surgeon directly, before you agree to anything, what happens if a revision is needed: who decides, what it would cost, and how long you would wait. Get the answer in writing with the rest of the package.
Do you speak Arabic?
Yes. Aysara answers you in Arabic from the first message, and Nikan supplies Arabic and English translators for the clinical conversations. Dr. Arjang works in Farsi and some English, so a translator is present when you need one.
Can someone travel with me?
Yes, and we would encourage it for the first week. Tell us when you first make contact so accommodation is arranged for both of you.
What happens after I fly home?
Your follow-up stays with Dr. Arjang and Nikan, and Aysara keeps that line open from Oman. If something worries you after you are home, contact us and we get you to the treating team, not to a general call centre.
Do I have to pay anything to ask?
No. First contact, the case review, and the written package all come before any payment. You decide once you have read the package.

After surgery

Your stay and follow-up

The surgeon decides how long you stay in Tehran before flying home. After you return to Oman, your follow-up stays with the surgeon and the hospital. We help keep that contact clear and simple. Aysara does not give medical care.

Important to know

Care and privacy

Aysara plans the trip. Surgeons and the hospital decide your care. Do not send medical documents or clinical photos through the first-contact form.
